Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom *CM Rumor* about being Stuck on the Easy Level

We went to Disney Magic Kingdom the night before last to take photographs of Cinderella Castle and Main Street, and to play Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom.

We brought our Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom Spell Card binders with us, but didn't end up playing that much, because the SOTMK office closed shortly after we arrived, and after playing at a portal or two, we got the message that our next destination was currently unavailable.

The interesting (and good) news I wanted to share with you is that we  met a nice young lady while we were taking some shots of the Main Street Electrical Parade.  She asked the kids if they wanted to trade spell cards, and they did.

We all talked for quite awhile and it turns out she is a Walt Disney World Cast Member.  She works at one of the water parks, but had taken a shift at Disney Magic Kingdom that night as one of the CMs who directs crowd traffic before the parade.

She had gotten off and was just hanging around, playing Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom.

I took the opportunity to ask her about the situation of everyone being kept on the Easy level of the game.

***In case you're new to Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom, you play through levels.  After you complete the first level, you move up, and the villains get harder, and the game play takes longer because you get to use more spells and portals.  There are 3 levels;  easy, medium and hard.

Disney set everyone back to the Easy level weeks ago, and no one has been able to move up.  Once you complete the first level, instead of moving to level two, they just restart you at level 1, or the easy level.

Needless to say, no one is really happy about it, and everyone wonders exactly why they are doing this, and when they are going to resume normal game play.***

She confirmed that it was because the times waiting in line to play were too long, with certain guests on the harder levels.

Now here is the interesting part, and the part I've never heard before, that gave me hope.

She said that the normal game play of moving up levels will resume as soon as the holiday crowds are gone.

She said that Disney just put everyone one easy, and kept them there, when the parks had such high crowd levels for Spring Break.

Supposedly during all holidays game play would change like it has, to keep everyone on easy to keep lines and time playing Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom manageable ... interesting right?

I sure hope it resumes to normal soon, because I know a lot of people are getting tired of playing on easy, over and over again, and being stuck on the easy level.
