Downtown Disney in Orlando Florida is Changing!

Downtown Disney Marketplace

I am so excited that Downtown Disney in Orlando Florida is changing!!!

While it hasn't publicly been announced yet, Disney World Cast Members were told of this expansion yesterday

It is way past time for a huge change in Downtown Disney World Orlando.  Downtown Disney features the worst Disney World parking!

When I visit, usually multiple times per week, there's almost never a parking spot, and many, many cars are driving around and around looking for parking.

I knew Disney had to do something about the Downtown Disney parking soon!

I thought that a parking garage would be the smartest move, (like the one at Universal Studios Orlando) and it seems they thought so too!  The new Downtown Disney will feature two of them!

Also, Downtown Disney in Orlando Florida will no longer be called that.  It will be renamed to Disney Springs and it will be a beautiful place, filled with plants and water and whitewashed buildings, giving the atmosphere a wonderful old Florida feeling.

There will be new Downtown Disney stores, and the World of Disney gift shop will be expanded!  That will be very nice as it can get quite crowded in there!

I am excited because many of the store in Downtown Disney will be totally new to the Orlando area!  I can't wait to see which stores and companies are coming to WDW!

More shopping will be great, I mean, who doesn't like shopping while on vacation?!?

Of course there will be many new Downtown Disney restaurants, and even the loss of one of them, Captain Jacks.

I sure hope that one of my favorite eating spots, the Earl of Sandwich isn't going anywhere!!!

Captain Jacks Restaurant

What's your favorite eating spot in Westside, or the Marketplace?  Comment below and share!

I have never eaten at Captain Jacks, but Trevon has and he enjoyed it.  Maybe I should stop by for lunch or dinner before it closes!

I am looking forward to Downtown Disney in Orlando Florida changing ... I just can't wait to find out more about the new Disney Springs when Disney announces their plans to the public. ºOº
